The Alta Via is a footpath through the Apennines in Emilia-Romagna, Tuscany and the Marche regions.
The HikingEurope itinerary crosses two national parks Appennino Tosco-Emiliano and Foreste Casentinesi, Monte Falterona e Campigna and one regional park Vena del Gesso Romagnola. The route offers cirque glacier , lakes set in the splendor of high altitude prairies, thick forests and clear rivers, volcanic rocks and chalk cliffs.
